Photography has been an interesting, yet illusive hobby for me. That was until my good friend Thilina who took up serious photography, and, in the process introduced me to the world of prosumer photography.

Most photographers I have come across have been rather reluctant to teach tricks of better photography, equipment, etc to a newbie. However, Thilana was generous enough to lend me his (then) beloved Nikon F75 to take on a trip to the Yala National Park in Sri Lanka -- a rare gesture indeed.

My interest in photography is primarily amateur. I am still in the process of trying to master the finer points of photography, including the ability to manipulate the different settings for better pictures. Currently, I would rely probably 80% on camera readings, and 20% on my judgement.

Experimenting remains an expensive option because of the cost of film & development for film-camera. I have been thinking about going digital, but have been putting it off for various different reasons.
